Originally for: data and stories that would otherwise be delivered as information.

What it says

Take something abstract — a dataset, a social condition — and build it into an interaction where the audience becomes the protagonist. Not looking at the story; performing it.

Its parent concepts are data physicalization (giving data physical form) and data sensification (giving data sensory form). Narrative sensification adds the part that matters to me: a role.

How it holds up on my work

The clean fit is with a work that has something to say — which in my case is the compressed-modernity material: rural-urban transition, infrastructure, multiple simultaneous time systems.

The tolerance problem is that this part is specified for data. My material is not data; it is experience. It may need re-machining, or it may simply be the wrong part for a work whose subject is a feeling rather than a dataset.

Filed, not fitted. It becomes load-bearing only if the thesis keeps a content layer at all — currently an open question in Revisions.
