Daily tous les jours
A field of yellow microphones planted in a public space, karaoke style, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to sing out loud together.
Singing in harmony with others — whether in a stadium, around a campfire or in a choir — is the expression of a shared emotion. Beyond beautiful voices, the pleasure comes from singing together.
No particular skill is required, and the studio makes that literal: the system lightly auto-tunes the voices, producing what they call a “quasi-professional” choir. The songs at each event are chosen online by the public beforehand, which brings the local community in before anyone has sung a note.
The thing to notice is that the correction is aimed at a social problem, not an audio one. What stops a stranger singing in a square is not being out of tune, it is being heard being out of tune in front of other people. Tuning the voices removes the risk of embarrassment, and that is what unlocks the participation.
